Control of Bifurcation in Current-Programmed DC/DC Converters: An Alternative Viewpoint of Ramp Compensation

چکیده
A bstract |This paper reexamines the conventional currentmode control strategy as applied to dc/dc converters in the ligh t of \avoiding bifurcation". This alternativ eviewpoint permits convenien t selection of parameter values to guarantee stable operation. Slope compensation is viewed as a means to k eep the system suÆciently remote from the rst bifurcation point. It is shown that excessiv e bifurcation clearance is accompanied by undesirably slow dynamical response. A variable ramp compensation is proposed to dynamically adjust the slope magnitude such that the system is kept clear of bifurcation yet responding suÆciently fast during transients. The results ha vebeen con rmed by experimental measurements.

Bifurcations in current-programmed DC/DC buck switching regulators - conjecturing a universal bifurcation path
This paper studies the bifurcation paths exhibited by a DC=DC buck switching regulator under current-programmed control. Previous studies with the boost converter and the Cuk converter have shown that two distinct types of bifurcation paths, namely one that goes through a region of quasi-periodic orbits and via period-doubling, are possible. We conjecture that these two di erent types of bifurc...
متن کاملSelf-compensation of DC–DC converters under peak current mode control
ELECT A new self-compensation technique is proposed for eliminating subharmonic oscillation and chaotic regimes in dc–dc switching converters under peak current mode control. The proposed method extracts a control signal from the error between the inductor current and a suitable reference and does not require an external signal generator as in the conventional ramp compensation scheme. The anal...

This paper studies the bifurcation paths exhibited by a simple second-order dc/dc boost converter under currentprogrammed control with and without voltage feedback. Previous work in this area has reported two distinct types of bifurcation paths, namely via regions of quasi-periodic orbits and perioddoubling. This paper demonstrates that the two different types of bifurcation paths can, in fact,...
متن کاملA Repetitive Control- based Approach for Power Sharing among Boost Converters in DC Microgrids
In this paper a repetitive control (RC) approach to improve current sharing between parallel-connected boost converters in DC microgrids is presented. The impact of changes in line impedance on current sharing is investigated. A repetitive controller is designed and connected in series with current controller of the boost converters to control the switching signals such that by regulating of th...
متن کاملAn Intelligent Algorithm based Controller for Multiple Output DC-DC Converters with Voltage Mode Weighting Factor
Multiple output DC-DC converters are widely used in many applications such as aerospace, industrial and medical equipments. The purpose of this paper is to present an intelligent control system for the multiple output DC-DC converters. In order to perform this purpose, a double ended forward DC-DC converter with three output voltages (+5 V/ 50W, +15 V/ 45W and -15 V/ 15W) is considered and anal...
